ADOLESCENTS AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES

Adolescents and youth constitute approximately half of the Indian population and also known as the future parents. Moral value among the youth have been demolishing day by day due to urbanization, modernization & split of joint families. The adolescents/youth are indulging in anti-social activities as they are not educationally qualified resulting unemployed. Moreover, due to female feticide, the sex ratio is also hindrance in their marriages. Due to unemployment and deprived of marriage, they become frustrated and have been addicting of drug substances resulting crimes. The adolescents have also peer pressure and lacking of adequate information & knowledge about physical & psychological changes among them. They seek the help of their peer groups for any type of physical, psychological and emotional problems. The peer groups is also lacking the adequate information & knowledge of the subject. This misguide the adolescents & it leads to destructives and criminal activities. To overcome these problems, the organization under the sponsorship of department of women & child development, Govt. of Haryana has been undertaking counseling and awareness session and other development activities for the adolescents with an aim to change in their attitude and behavior. It is also the duty of the parents, teachers and relevant NGO to disseminate adequate information, knowledge and treatment to the adolescents/youth to rectify their myths and misconception so as to make them responsible parents as well as citizens. In the changing scenario, young boys & girls of today face enormous challenges in order to become active and productive adults.
